Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsWhen someone searches for a family law attorney from a phone, the map and a short list of local businesses often appear before most websites do. That small panel shows a name, a star rating, a few words about the category, a distance and a call button. A parent who is rattled can tap it in one second. Your Google Business Profile is the page that appears when they do.
We set up, correct and keep that profile current for family practices, one real office at a time. We also build the citations and reviews around it, within your bar's rules and with attention to client privacy. Local search and Business Profile management are part of every Organic Growth plan, starting at $1,495 a month, with no contract.
What the profile has to say
A person in a family law dispute reads a map listing differently from a person shopping for a plumber. Their questions are subtle. Does this place look steady? Will someone actually answer? Is it safe for me to walk in, and can I find it? Do they work with people like me? Many of those answers live in small fields most firms leave alone.
The hours field is a good example. If your office closes at five but a human answers until seven, say so, or at least keep the hours accurate so a caller is not sent to a voicemail on an hour your listing claimed you were open. Holiday hours matter in a field where court calendars and school breaks drive urgency. The phone number should lead to a person or a monitored line, and the website link should open a page that confirms what the listing promised.
Photos matter too. A parent wants to see the entrance, the waiting room and the door they will walk through, not stock images of gavels. Photos of the building exterior and parking help someone who is dreading the first visit. A short video tour, where permitted, can calm nerves. Pictures of clients should never appear without written consent, and most firms are wise to avoid them.
Profile fields
The most important choice
Pick the most specific category that truly describes the bulk of your work. Names such as family law attorney, divorce lawyer and child custody options have appeared in Google's lists, but the list changes, so check the live dashboard before choosing.
Add only what you really do
Each one should match a matter you take. Extra categories for things you do not handle bring poor-fit calls and can harm trust.
Plain words people actually use
List custody, support, modification, parentage, adoption and guardianship in short, accurate descriptions. Avoid outcome claims and superlatives.
A reason to call
State the languages your staff really speak, and the building's accessibility features. Do not list Spanish unless someone competent answers in Spanish.
A quiet door for people who cannot talk
A scheduling link helps parents who cannot call from work. Make sure it leads to a real person who will confirm the time.
Used sparingly
Hours changes, new guides and office announcements. We avoid anything that sounds like a promotion of results.
Seed them honestly
Common questions about parking, hours, languages and what to bring, answered clearly. Others should not use this space to ask legal questions, and the profile should direct them to call.
Small signals of welcome
Wheelchair access, appointment-only status and other attributes that apply to your office, set only where they are true.
Office setups
| Setup | What the profile should show | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Solo attorney with one office | One listing under the firm name, with the attorney named in the description and on the website | Using the attorney name as a second listing for the same address without checking Google guidelines |
| Firm with several offices | A separate listing for each staffed location, each with its own local page and phone number | Copying the same description across every office or using a call center number that hides the local contact |
| Shared or executive suite | The suite number and a true statement of who staffs it and when | Virtual or unstaffed addresses, which the Google guidelines generally reject and which can suspend a listing |
| Satellite office open two days a week | Honest limited hours and a note that visits are by appointment | Posting full-time hours for a location that is not staffed full time |
| Firm that meets clients elsewhere | Accurate service area and a staffed address if one exists, with attention to the current Google rules | Hiding an address you do not legally operate from or listing broad service areas to look bigger |
| Attorney who also serves virtually | Remote consultations mentioned in the description and on the website, not as a separate fake office | Creating listings in cities where no attorney works |
Google updates its guidelines often. Confirm current eligibility rules in your own dashboard or the official help pages before you change a listing.
Reviews and reputation
Family law reviews have a particular awkwardness. The client who is glad you helped is usually also relieved that the matter is private. A public review that names the firm tells readers that a family dispute happened, so many clients decline even when they are grateful. That is a normal and respectable choice.
We help firms build a gentle process. The ask comes at the end of a matter, never in the middle, and never to someone in a heated conflict. It is a short, optional message that makes clear there is no obligation and no change in service either way. It is never tied to a discount or gift, and it never asks for a specific star count. Some clients prefer a private note that the firm can use, with permission, in anonymous form where your bar allows.
Replies need equal care. A public response should not confirm that the writer is or was a client, should not describe the work and should not argue. Many ethics opinions suggest thanking the reviewer in general terms and inviting a private conversation, but your own bar's guidance controls. When a review appears to come from an opposing party or a person who was never a client, we help you report it through Google's process rather than responding in kind.
The monthly routine
Name, address, phone, hours and holiday hours are compared against your website and your reality.
Calls, direction requests, website taps and search terms from the profile are logged and compared to the previous months.
New reviews are answered according to the policy you approved, and any suspicious or policy-breaking reviews are reported.
New exterior, interior or team images are added when something changes, and old, misleading ones are removed.
We compare profile activity with the calls your intake team received so we can see whether the map is sending the kind of people you want.
The investment
Quick answers
Google Business Profile, citations and review management are included in every Organic Growth plan: $1,495 a month for Silver, $2,495 for Gold and $3,495 for Platinum. There is no setup fee and no contract, and any ad spend is separate.
Choose the most specific category that matches most of your work, then add only the secondaries that fit matters you handle. Google's list of category names changes, so check the dashboard. Do not pick a category because a competitor did.
Google generally expects a staffed location where clients can be met during stated hours, and it can suspend listings that do not meet that. Review the current guidelines before you submit an address, and do not invent one to appear closer.
Almost never. Client images raise privacy and consent issues, and your bar may have rules about displaying them. Use images of the building, the waiting area and willing staff.
Keep any public reply short, courteous and free of facts about the matter, and avoid confirming a client relationship. Ask for a private conversation. Check your bar's guidance on responding to reviews, because the rules about confidential information are strict.
Document it, flag it to Google as a policy violation and do not respond with details. Reports are not always successful, so keep your own file. A calm reply or no reply is safer than an argument.
They can, if the listing, website and phone are truly bilingual. A Spanish description with no Spanish speaker on the line disappoints callers. We recommend it only where you can follow through.
